Right then, hands up how many of you neutral football fans are planning on going to the Champions League Final this year... It's in England. It's at Wembley. It's... £172 for the cheapest ticket??? Jeez, are they still trying to re-coup the money they blew on botching up the building of the stadium in the first place or something? £26 of this is apparently an 'admin' fee. So, that's presumably the cost of putting your ticket in an envelope and posting it. I know Royal Mail isn't cheap, but I wasn't aware it was now £26 to post a standard envelope. By this logic if I were buy a cd from Amazon does this mean it'll cost me £26 to get it sent out because if so there's a slight possibility I may illegally download it instead! Or will it be more because a cd is thicker than a ticket. Oh no-oooooo!
I love a live game of European football as much as the next man but I can't help but feel there are better ways of spending that kind of money. In fact, here's a top ten:
1.) An Apple Ipod Classic (160 GB)
2.) A Bosch Rotak Electric Rotary Lawnmower
3.) A TomTom XXL UK, ROI & Europe Maps GPS Sat Nav
4.) LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle, Hagrid's Hut & Quidditch Match
5.) An Epiphone Les Paul Special Guitar, (with change for a gig bag & spare strings)
6.) 3 x Tumbleweed Worm Farm and Pet Poo Convertor
7.) My Rover 25 (though it has a broken Head Gasket)
8.) A pair of pet Australian Beareded Dragons, (or 'Lizards' as they're known to the common man)
9.) A starter at one of Jamie Oliver's Restaurants
10.) 15 x T-shirt bearing the logo "One time, at band camp, Chuck Norris ate a percussionist".
